To address these challenges, Alliance Automotive Group implemented DataSnipper to formalize their controls, including SOX and internal cost reviews.

The team uses DataSnipper to validate that report figures match the consolidation system across PDFs and Excel workpapers. Document Matching automates the search and linking of amounts, while Text Snips, Sum Snips, and Table Snips are used for exceptions and to maintain consistent templates across periods.

Previously, closing SOX controls required one full day of work for two people and were performed manually, making the process both time-intensive and vulnerable to human error. With DataSnipper, these controls now take half a day for one person, supported by dynamically linked documentation that simplifies the review and reduces errors.

Internal cost reviews

For selected cost types, supporting documentation arrives from multiple countries in up to five languages. DataSnipper’s Document Matching, along with Text and Sum Snips, automates validation across these diverse documents, speeding up review and improving reliability. This enabled the team to complete internal cost reviews in half the original time.

Overall, DataSnipper strengthened the team’s confidence in their numbers, optimized closing timelines, and freed capacity to focus on analytical tasks that add value to reporting.
